Havasupai

I went to Havasupai this year. I hadn't been there in seven years! It was lovely, but there seemed to be less water than last time I went. I also took the helicopter out of the canyon instead of hiking all the way out like last time! I have "Princess and the Pea" feet which causes problems when hiking 22 miles in a 36 hour time frame--no foot healing time!

Some canyon photos on the way in.

It's a lovely canyon.

Here are some falls pics:

The water used to be higher, as I mentioned before.

The BEST way out of the canyon for $85!!!

Some lovely aerial shots.

Here's on overview of the canyon from the top:

I would go again! But those switchbacks in the last two miles back up are a killer. I only did them once! I highly recommend the chopper out plan. :)

Summer 2014 so far...

Summer camping on the lake with my cute nephew!

We attended a rodeo in Prescott for the 4th of July!

Got my patriotic hat... :)

Water fight in the park.

A little indoor rock climbing. I did most of a 5.10/5.9 even though they said not to do a climb greater than 5.8 on your first day there. Technically, it was my 2nd time there since I had gone once 9 years ago!

Cooler Weather Here

Okay, so I'm not the best at updating my blog! I actually do better at updating my recipe blog!

Lately, I've been baking. As you may know, it gets pretty hot here in AZ, so we have to take advantage of the cooler weather to heat up our ovens!!!
I found this awesome cook book called "Your Cup of Cake" by Lizzy Early. Amazing! I've tried three recipes already and they have all been great!

Hiked Flat Iron (Syphon Draw) in the Superstition Mountains on New Year's Day. That was nice--start the year off with "woman versus mountain." Woman won! :) Woman went slow, but still made it up!

Here's the view from the ground.  We were on the top of that thing that looks like a giant iron.

I also went to California with some friends. :)

We attended three temples in two days! Newport Beach, San Diego and Los Angeles! It was pretty awesome. Couple stops at the beach, of course. :)
